Gyros

Ingredients:

  • 500g pork meat cut into cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Steps:

  1. Cut the meat into small pieces to marinate better, to fry faster and to stay better in the pita.
  2. Prepare the spices. In a bowl, put the cut meat cubes and pour over them a teaspoon of honey, a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar and a tablespoon of olive oil.
  3. Pour the mixture of spices and homogenize it to cover every piece of meat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate it for 2 hours.
  4. In the meantime, prepare the tzatziki sauce, the Greek pita and fries. Basically, once all of this is done, then you can take care of the meat. However, the meat needs at least one hour of marinating.
  5. Slice the ​​tomatoes and cut the onions Julien.
  6. Heat a non-sticky pan and put the meat. Always mix them to brown on all sides. After about 10 minutes, it should be ready.
  7. On the lying pita, put about a spoonful of tzatziki sauce, then a few pieces of meat, fries, about half a tomato and a few slices of onion then sprinkle with salt. Put a little more tzatziki sauce over them, then stick the base and the sides of the pita like a sandwich.
  8. Continue to proceed with the remaining pita’s, evenly distributing the ingredients so you can use them all.
