For the dough:

  • 10 eggs
  • 10 tablespoons sugar
  • 10 tablespoons flour
  • 10 tablespoons semolina
  • 1piece baking powder
  • 1 piece of vanilla sugar


For the syrup:

  • 800ml water
  • 800gr sugar
  • 1 Lemon (sliced)
  • 1 piece of vanilla sugar
  • Cinnamon



  1. For the Syrup – Place the sugar and water over low heat until it forms a syrup bound.
  2. Add the cinnamon stick and some lemon juice, then simmer another 5 minutes.
  3. For the Dough – In a large bowl put sugar and eggs, then mix them with an electric mixer until you get a thick cream. Pour over the oil gradually.
  4. Add flour (mixed with baking powder) and semolina, alternating with the milk and mix until further smooth.
  5. At the end put the peeled lemon, stirring well the whole composition.
  6. Overturn the mixture into a baking tray lined with parchment paper and place it in the preheated oven at 180°C.
  7. Bake for about 40 minutes, but it check the cake with a toothpick.
  8. Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool.
  9. Cut the cake into squares or diamonds in the pan and after was it has completely cooled, pour the hot syrup over it.
  10. Let it cool in pan until the syrup is absorbed.
