Saganaki

Ingredients:

  • 200g feta cheese (or Kefalotiri)
  • 1 egg
  • 30g flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Lemon juice

Steps:

  1. Slice the cheese into two equal slices (not too thick because it will not melt enough when cooking nor very thin because it will melt too quickly).
  2. Beat the egg in a dish. Put flour on another stretched plate. Give the cheese through the beaten egg and cover it with flour.
  3. Put the pieces of cheese in the well heated olive oil to be fried. Turn them on both sides until you obtain a golden crust, about 2 minutes per side.
  4. Remove the cheese on a paper towel to drain. Sprinkle with a little lemon juice.
