StuttgarterZwiebelkuchen – Stuttgart Onion Pie



For the dough

  • 250g flour
  • 125g margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • Salt

For the filling

  • 150g bacon
  • 50g margarine
  • 1 kg onions
  • 250g sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • Salt
  • Thyme



  1. Make the dough and put it into a round shape.
  2. Fry the bacon in margarine and add the chopped onion.
  3. Mix the sour cream with eggs, flour and spices, then add the onion.
  4. Put everything over the dough and then bake in the oven at 175°C for about 1 hour.
